Fascia ... it's not what's on your roof!

This week the Pilates Classes are Trigger Point Pilates ... and we're rolling out our bodies.

I love teaching and doing this class because it's nice to teach and when I do it for myself it feels like having a deep tissue massage.

We use foam rollers, spikey balls, bands and soft balls throughout the class. It's a bit like a relaxing circuit class as we progress through all pieces of the small equipment.

So why is this different from the normal Pilates class? It is different in that we are really focussing on fascial release ...and what is fascial release? Understanding Myofascial Release | HFE Blog

We are aiming to release tension and discomfort whilst improving mobility. It is a popular class especially as it has 5-10 minutes of relaxation at the end. During a day time class this allows the whole body/mind time to feel relaxed and rejuvenated for the day ahead and for an evening class you can feel relaxed and ready for a good night's sleep.
